Our Primary Maths course is designed to focus on the national curriculum. Key topics will focus on knowing times tables up to 12, ordering, partitioning and rounding numbers, understanding negative numbers, understanding factors, multiples and prime numbers less than 100; understanding and knowing square and cube numbers, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers (up to 4-digits), know equivalents between decimals, fractions and percentages, ratio and proportion, basic algebra, use of brackets including BODMAS, reading and plotting co-ordinates, measuring and drawing angles, calculating perimeter and area, describing 2D and 3D shapes, symmetry, measure, length, mass and capacity; converting units of measure, telling the time from a 12 or 24 hour clock, drawing and interpreting different graphs and charts, calculating the mean, median, mode, average and range and finally understanding probability.
We are also happy to incorporate the 11+ non-verbal reasoning and verbal reasoning topics into the course, to prepare your child for sitting the competitive grammar school entry exam. Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in.
